Shadow Complex Remastered is a 2015 remaster of the 2009 game of the same name. The game was developed by Chair Entertainment, the original developer, in conjunction with Hardsuit Labs, and published Epic Games for multiple platforms. The game sports higher fidelity assets but retains the same foundation as the original title, even running on the same engine.

To retain the "feel" of the original game, ChAIR elected to keep the remastered version running on the same engine and source code, opting only to fix truly devastating bugs. Even sequence breaks and certain speed-running tech, such as Z-sliding, are still present in the remaster.

A notable addition was the contextual melee system. Originally designed for a planned Shadow Complex sequel, this system allows Jason to take down enemies with different animations depending on where in space they are in relation to him. For example, a simple take-down when standing behind an enemy on the same surface, a drop kick when coming down from above or pulling an enemy off of a ledge when hanging nearby. As this system was programmed and ready at the time of the remaster, ChAIR opted to include it as a bonus.
